When I was growing up, my mom worked at a running store. I remember several things about that store…I remember they had some disgusting protein bars, inline skates, and Wigwam socks. Now, the Wigwam Socks I remember from my past were the super thick, woolly kind, that make your feet feel like heaven when you are hiking. When the opportunity came up to try out Wigwam’s running socks, I jumped.
When I first opened the package, I quite excited to see the iconic M Dot logo, which represents the Ironman Brand triathlon races. My next major race after Surf City Full Marathon, is going too be Arizona 70.3 (Half Ironman).
The first day I wore my Wigwam socks, was an intense day. It was a 13.1 mile Spartan Beast race, straight up and down the side of a mountain in Temecula, over and over and over again, with obstacles mixed in as well.
The socks got wet, muddy, dusty, and downright filthy. However, I emerged from this 100% blister free! Every inch of my body was sore, but not a blister to be found! I was surprised, as the course was designed to be intense and very difficult, and I had assumed a blister or two would be inevitable.
Next, I tested these babies on multiple training runs of varying lengths. I logged a couple short runs first (3 miles at a time), and then a couple longer training runs (anywhere from 5-9 miles). I am still 100% blister free!
They are super comfortable, and cheaper than the brand of socks I was wearing previously. I love the low-cut style, and will definitely be purchasing more in the very near future!
